| Our Behaviour Management policy works toward developing
an environment that is safe and happy while respecting the uniqueness and
dignity of all members of the school.
Our school rules are an integral part of our policy and reflect the
values of respect, justice, tolerance and a clear understanding of the
rights and responsibilities of students, parents and staff.
GUIDELINES:
- Discipline at St Josephs is based on mutual respect
and that everyone has the right to be treated justly.
- At no time will students or staff employ physical
means as a discipline measure.
- A focus is placed on rewarding positive behaviours.
- There are negative consequences attached to inappropriate
behaviour. Playground behaviours deemed unacceptable by the duty teacher
can result in the student being excluded from play.
- Each class develops their own set of rules and
consequences.
- Our school behaviour management is an integral
part of our Duty of Care responsibilities and is therefore the responsibility
of all staff. Where assistance is required in disciplinary action the
Principal and/or Assistant Principals will be involved in the process.
It is our aim to develop self discipline within each child. Rules are
established to ensure the safety of children which will enable them to
gain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from attending St Josephs Primary
School.
